Earthquake in Haiti: Note from the Secretariat January 13th
|
We at the PDG Secretariat express our sympathy and support for the people of Haiti following the earthquake that hit the country on Tuesday, 12 January. Our thoughts particularly go to our colleagues and partners whom we saw during our last mission to Port-au-Prince at the end of November 2009, and with whom we have developed a very close relationship.
We are all well aware that such a severe natural disaster exacerbates the situation in a country already in need of support from the international community. Haiti will remain a top priority partner country for PDG and we will spare no effort to identify the best ways for the Partnership to contribute to the co-ordinated recovery effort on the part of the international community.
